On June 2nd, 2024, the Gratz Historical Society hosted an unforgettable evening filled with elegance, history, and community spirit at our annual Fashion Show. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together fashion enthusiasts and history buffs alike to celebrate over a century of style.


Welcome and Gratitude

We kicked off the evening with a heartfelt welcome, expressing our gratitude to the incredible volunteers and the supportive community. Our dedicated team of volunteers, along with the attendees, truly made this event special. Your presence and support help keep the Gratz Historical Society thriving!


Fashion Through the Decades

The fashion show took our guests on a mesmerizing journey through time, showcasing exquisite dresses and outfits from 1913 to the present day. Each piece was in impeccable condition, a testament to the meticulous care taken in preserving these garments. Here are some highlights from the evening:

1. Brooke in Magenta

  • Design: Elise

  • Description: Brooke dazzled in a stunning magenta gown made from satin fabric, featuring an accent feather and a stylish one-shoulder design. This dress embodied glamour and sophistication, setting the tone for the evening.

2. Kessler’s Wedding Elegance

  • Date: June 11, 1960

  • Music: "It's Now or Never" by Elvis Presley, one of the top 20 songs on her wedding day.

  • Description: Kessler's simple yet elegant wedding gown from 1960 captivated the audience. The dress, coupled with nostalgic tunes, transported us back to a beautiful era of timeless love and style.


3. Lizzie’s Evening Glamour

  • Design: Elise

  • Description: Lizzie graced the stage in an exquisite evening gown perfect for a night out in the town. The mermaid skirt was fully beaded, and the dress featured a beautiful back, highlighting elegance and craftsmanship.


4. Sawyer’s Fashion Highlight

  • Design: Elise

  • Description: Sawyer showcased a magnificent gown, accentuating the intricate design and elegance that defined the fashion of its time. The combination of style and history was truly remarkable.


Culinary Delights

The fashion show was paired with an exceptional culinary experience, featuring a multi-course menu that delighted the senses:

  • Garden Salad: A fresh and crisp start to the evening.

  • Melon Soup: A refreshing palate cleanser.

  • Chicken Salad Crostini & Cucumber Sliced Sandwiches: Savory bites that were both light and satisfying.

  • Assorted Cheese Wheels: A fine selection of cheeses for every palate.

  • Spinach and Herb Crackers with Bacon Ranch Dressing: A flavorful and crunchy treat.

  • Assorted Cookies: An array of delicious cookies including lemon, butter, and brownie varieties.

  • Drinks: A selection of water, tea, and coffee to accompany the meal.

Guests enjoyed these delectable dishes between each set of dresses, enhancing the overall experience and providing a perfect blend of fashion and food.
